Team Robbo have tagged (or vandalised) a Banksy piece of street art in Brighton. The Two Kissing Policemen outside the Albert Pub has had ‘Team Robbo’ tagged across its facia.

This piece by Banksy is estimated to be worth anywhere from £500,000 to £1m – and is due to be removed and sold in New York sometime in the near future. Given that the kissing policeman has been drawn on the pub’s property, all money raised from any sale will go straight to the owners of The Albert.

If you read Princess Talalullah IX’s last post you may be forgiven for thinking we are a little anti-Big Brother here at Finger Jam. This is where I raise my hand amidst office debates to defend the show I have a certain fondness for. Ten years is without a doubt a long time to remain enthused about anything, yet here I am, along with the thousands of die-hard fans- loyal to the end! But why you ask?

Is it me or are  Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt slowly starting to resemble each other’s ex’s? Brad has certainly adopted a slightly more, ahem… ‘rugged’ look, not dissimilar to a certain Billy-Bob-Rough-Around-The-Edges-Thornton (his full name), while Angelina has rather softened her look of late a la Jennifer-Girl-Next-Door-Aniston. See for yourself…

And with the respective ex’s…

Helping Haiti…

By sams. Posted in Celebrity, Random chat | 1 Comment »

The Helping Haiti single… Everybody Hurts… Yes, an apt choice for a charity single released in order to pinch pennies from the pockets of us mere mortals, while the powers that be (Simon Cowell) sit on their pedestals, and wallets for that matter, looking down on the glory of good that they have created before them…  Yes, I am hurting thank you very much! Not that I begrudge helping the cause- of course.

It’s your average Tuesday night’s TV line-up which, until the new series of Desperate Housewives graces our screens is, let’s face it, pretty mundane. So what do you do? You swivel the computer screen to a more comfortable angle and settle down for a nice dose of Skins on 4OD, Life on BBC’s iPlayer, or maybe even XFactor repeats on ITVPlayer? Or perhaps you’ll decide to watch a movie through your Xbox? Today, the choices are vast.

Haven’t we come far since the days of watching repeats or video recordings when nothing half decent was on! Remember how organised we used to have to be? Take Christmas for example…  I remember the days when come December 1st you bought a TV-Times and went through with a highlighter to mark out all the films and dramas that weren’t to be missed; and when Christmas dinner had to be scheduled so as not to miss Eastenders. Now all you’ve got to do is press pause on the Sky+, or one simple red button for record, and voila! the Mitchells will wait for you!

The boxing day sports didn’t cause the arguments they usually do this year either; well, the guys did win the living room, but the gals and kids certainly weren’t left with nothing. With Sky Player to the rescue, we happily cuddled up on the bed and watched a movie on the laptop; everyone was happy!

I now find myself grateful for this new commodity once again, as cricket season is always upon us which means the OH can get his fix at work without having to burden me with the likes of “If only I had seen that last wicket!” and such. Oh yes, I’m very grateful for all of these advances in technology. Just think what we’ll be able to do next Christmas… I predict the dwindling of our having separate TVs and computers, but instead having one super machine that can do it all- including washing the dishes!

If you want to read more about advances in VOD and how we look set to entertain ourselves in the future,  there’s some intriguing nuggets of info in this recent article from The Guardian.
