With the final series of Big Brother starting in June Princess Talullah and Sam S’ discuss their feelings on Big Brother Eleven…
Big Brother 11 Why I really won’t be watching:
In short, it’s BORING!
When does Big Brother 2010 start? Wednesday 9th June at 9pm
Did we really need to take it this far? Eleven series of anything is gratuitous.
Well who’s super excited? Who’s super sad and who couldn’t give a toss? I’m in the last camp, obviously Big Brother has become an institution, but Summer Television usually has the amazing ability to stop me from watching TV. I don’t like Cricket (…I love it!), Wimbledon, Football or Big Brother. I am viewed as an outcast in discussions in the pub, what’s a girl to do? I can participate if someone gets upset and asks will there be ‘live feed’? I take glee in saying, ‘NO’. Big Brother fans there is no ‘Livefeed’, once again, this year. Sad, sad times… (How I know this, I don’t know, but it’s true!)
Regardless of the fact I’ve never really got into Big Brother like the rest of the nation, I appreciate the amount of papers, cheap magazines and advertising it’s sold. An amazing skill. It’s created a generation of media hungry fame seekers with little or no talent. That’s a skill. Big Brother is media at it’s best and that’s something to be congratulated. See below for examples.
The voyeurism aspect is pretty amazing and Big Brother has helped spawn so much reality TV and I have to say, I’m quite addicted to some terrible shows, I am ashamed of this and will not tell you which.
Ten years though. Ten years. Ten years of mocking the weak willed and self obsessed, ten years of glueing people to the telly for hours on end, ten years of speculating about utter nobodies. Nation what have you done? Why have we made idols of these talentless vacuums? I’m ashamed. So very ashamed. How much ink, money and time has been wasted. Oh the shame. The terrible shame. Still as many say, ‘It makes great telly’.
What are the BB winners doing now…? I ask you! Who cares, really?
