“What’s that”, I say, technology is running away with me here! Today  I saw a woman using the internet on a teeny weeny phone, an i-phone, I believe. I see this everywhere mini screens and sticky fingers and still have no desire to be even more involved- ALL the time with technology! First there’s cameras and phone and there are phones that can be spirit levels and phones that tell the future and predict the lottery… well not yet, but there will be!

Gaming has come a long way in the last 30 years. Not only is the gaming industry outstripping movies and music for the amount of money it can now bankroll, as well as encourage pre-release sales of astronimical amounts – but the face of gaming has changed somewhat too.

Yes there are still zitty blokes who wear metallica t-shirts and have little social skills outside their close-knit groups and play until the early hours of the morning. But now we have the beautiful and intelligent Jade Raymond. She is one of the Producers behind Assassin Creed, and its sequel Assassin Creed 2 and is someone Ubisoft, the company she works for, regularly puts in front of the cameras. We all know why.

Jade Raymond we at Finger Jam salute you (with a kind of geeky salute and then run back to our mates).

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 – the record breaking beautifully crafted game, has fought off potential contenders to remain top of the all-format charts for the 2nd week in a row.

Call-of-Duty-Modern-Warfare-2

It shot-down (see what i did there?) threats in the shape of Assassin’s Creed II, which entered the charts in second place. Even the Japanese might of Mario couldn’t knock out MW2 and the Wii game came in at third place this week.

Record Breaking
Modern Warfare 2 ended its first week needing smelling salts, selling half a million more units after its record-breaking initial release. It had already smashed the first day sales record with 1.2 million copies of sold in the UK with its first week results rising to an eye-watering 1.78 million copies.

Game shops
Retailers around the country opened at midnight in a bid to attract gamers desperate to get their hands on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

Pre-orders of the Xbox version made Modern Warfare 2 Amazon’s bestselling game, and sales are already 50% higher than they were for last year’s hot game, Grand Theft Auto 4.
